Joseph Smith III, known to most clients as Joe, comes from a long line of artists. His grandfather was a renowned sculptor, and his father was a master draftsman and commercial artist. Growing up surrounded by creativity, Joe was immersed in drawing, painting, and visual design from an early age—making art a natural path for his career.

While attending college, Joe discovered his passion for tattooing and quickly became fascinated with the idea that his artwork could become a permanent part of someone’s story. Originally from Philadelphia, Joe began his professional tattoo career in San Diego, California, where he refined his skills and built a reputation for bold, clean, and timeless tattoo work.

Over the years, Joe has tattooed in respected studios across the United States, working coast to coast and earning features in several well-known tattoo magazines. He has also owned and operated two successful tattoo shops, giving him extensive experience in both the artistic and business sides of the tattoo industry.

Eventually, Joe realized his passion was strongest behind the tattoo machine. By stepping away from the business side, he was able to fully dedicate himself to what matters most—creating exceptional tattoos for his clients.
